Kitchen Towel Kung Fu...

Well, finally decided that I can't justify getting the internet out at our little house...so for some unkown amount of time I'll be posting randomly as I make it in to town to a family or friends house that has internet! Hopefully i'll remember to bring a memory stick with a few pictures on it to post....next time!

Life never ceases to be an adventure, last week was rather interesting...full of surprises...for instance...feeling like I was in slow-mo, as i watched my almost 1 year old projectile vomit all over me...three times...in one hour...oh not to mention it went on for days....then to only come down with a nasty little cold myself, leaving me sleepless, cranky and stinky due to the above mentioned encounters with a sick baby...on top of it all we've had a few visitors every night this week...recently they've been seen mourning over their dead brother named "roadkill" just a stone's throw down the road...yes...awwww, all black and white and cuddly looking, but they're just sheep in wolves clothing-it seems just as we get settled in bed EVERY NIGHT they find there way to our house...within a few minutes reach of blissfull slumber, that invisible but heavy odorous scent lingers at the doors and windows, then slowly like a poisonous gas seeps in to fill every nook and cranny in the...being that it's winter we have no choice but to have the heaters on which creates this lovely hot box affect....gotta love the country right???...At least our landlord came out yesterday and set some traps...this morning I heard multiple gun shots, so unless this is more outlaw country than skunk country, I'd say a few of our little friends just might have reached skunk heaven!

As for the title of this post...my latest great adventure was having the pleasure of killing a black widow spider in my kitchen...it must have thought the cookies I was baking would be tasty as it came from the the heat vent and decided to take a stroll across my oven door...with a quick rush of adrenaline, I reached for the only weapon within reach...my kitchen towel, that's right ladies, don't ever be caught with out your kitchen towel at hand...it can save your life!!! (Teehee) With one snap I not only dismembered the little devil, but killed him instantly...I feel rather brave and accomplished, but secretly I don't walk anywhere in my house without wearing my slippers!!!

Well, more to come as I get a chance to come into town!!!

Settling in...

Well, it's official we're now Idahoan's...again...!!! Today marks one weeks since our return, we miss our family in Oregon, but are happy to get settled in to our little house as a family, Carter and I have missed John terribly during our time apart. We're loving our little house in the country...and mostly everything that comes with it...spiders I can deal with...a few mice in the walls...whatever...but smelling a skunk all night into the morning, not so much lovin it...thankfully there's a good wind today keeping that air moving!!!

After apartment living, I feel like i've been let out of a cage...I can walk around in my underwear without having to worry about the shades, I can make as much noise as I want, whenever I want, I have a pantry so dishes and food don't have to share cupboards, I have an actual laundry room...no more folding clothes on the kitchen counter (yayayayayay!!!) I HAVE COUNTER SPACE..a walk through closet to the bathroom, TONS OF WINDOWS....it's so light and bright...and the best part is that every window in the house looks out to a field, the mountains, or an old lazy barn/corral that just oozes a kick back and relax feel!!! I have a yard(although it needs alot of work this spring!), space for a garden, TONS OF BIRDS that sing so sweetly every morning...cows lulling in the background, and horses to greet me when I pull up to the house....finally the inner me matches my surroundings...I might have grown up a little more on the city side, but i've definitely gone country!!!

We went to our new ward today in Acequia...I can already tell i'm going to love it!!! I felt like a celebrity, I don't think i've had so many people approach me and shake my hand in a 5 minute span of time ever...there's alot of really young families/couples, and just a good down home honest country folk feel, what more could a girl ask for??...we've even met a few gamers who're rearin for a good ticket to ride marathon!!!!

Other than everything...nothing much is new, it's nice to have a routine finally...John is loving his job, Carter's still not crawling BUT she is sleeping through the night like a champ, which makes our days together much more bearable!!! We have a new little niece that we love to cuddle up, little Brynlie is so much fun!!!

Funny Girl...

The other night I was sitting in the family room talking on the phone, with the laptop on...well, my lap.......occassionaly peeking over to see what my little Carter Grace was up to....A few minutes passed, I looked up and couldn't see her anywhere..."Good Golly" I thought... "She's finally learned to crawl, which direction did she go?"....but alas...I discovered that she had rolled herslef clear into the toy room/Joy and Carter's room, and gotten herself stuck under the bed!!!
The adventurous little thing that she is, thought it was just grand to play with the blankets and kick at the bed frame...I should have just let her stay there and figure out how to get unstuck...but you never know what kind of surprises are hiding under the bed after little kids playing about, and I didn't want her finding a lone lego piece to choke, on.....but how funny...just one of those silly little ....almost...insignificant moments of time, but deemed blog worthy, because it was just cute!

Bloglogically Challenged...

So perhaps, i'm just tired...being that i'ts nigh unto midnight, but I find not only can I not spell, I can't seem to get things posted in the right order....so if you please...skip down to "I'm in love" and then come back to "I'm in Love part two"....maybe someday i'll figure it out...as for tonight, i'm satisfied going to bed as a bloglogically challenged, super tired mommy!

I'm In Love-Part Two:

#6+#7:(Two in One) Retro + Being a Mom- I have always had an obsession with everything retro, retro as in skip the 90's through the 70's and love the 60's back to the invention of the toilet...then start skipping again!...The fashion (esp.Shoes!) the haridos, the cars, the music, when boys still opened the doors for girls, and girls were taught how to bake pies!!! As for being a mom...I JUST LOVE IT!

#8: Pacific City, Oregon- Yes it's true in general I just love the beach, my heart quickens at the first scent of ocean air, my spirit soars at the first peek or breakers in the vast blue...but I'm commited to my love for Pacific City Oregon. Just look there in the picture what's not to love?...Beach a plenty, surf for boogie boarding, winds for kite flying, dunes for climbing (and tumbling!), cliffs for daring, and tide pools for exploring...you just don't find a love like this every day!

#9: Blue Grass/Old Time Country Music- My one and only secret love afair (well at least it was until now!)...Perhaps my love is so deep for this music because it's coupled with a bit of nostalgia, maybe it's the foot stomping, finger tapping, get up and dance rhythms, maybe it's the simplicity of the stories told, or by chance I was just born in the wrong era....we'll never know!

#10: Miss Carter Grace- My chubby little baby delight! I can't even find words...

#11: My Jonathan- The one that made me realize my mother didn't make everything all better anymore...being in his arms, feeling the beat of his heart, the rise and fall of his chest with every breath...awww....yes, the sweet soft security and peace of loving and being loved by your BFF!!!

I'm In Love...

I'm gearing up for the holiday -o- love!!! Usually I detest the observance of Valentines Day, because I think it's pathetic that we need a "holiday" to help us remember to share and delight in a little thing called love...HOWEVER being apart from John for six weeks has made me more than ever want to shout out... "I'm In LOVE!!!"....Randomly my brain connected the dots from loving my husband to wandering "What else do I love?" And I don't mean hey I really like that, gee that would be nice.... I mean deep down, can't live without, gotta have it kind of "love"...Might I say...I drew a complete blank!!! So after some serious contemplation, I finally came up with a list of my true loves......... mind you not in any particular order...however I did save the best for last!.........

#1: Coca-Cola- A deliciously refreshing soda, that takes my headaches and troubles away...this bubbly beverage has such a crisp taste that each savory sip makes me fall head over heels!

#2: Burt's Beeswax Peppermint Lip Balm-Cools the lips on a hot summer day...masks bad breath...makes for a smooth smoocher...somewhat edible for the little nieces who want "yipstick too"!

#3: A Deep Hot Soak in the Tub- Need I say more?!

#4: Steak- I wake up in the morning craving a big hunk of red meat...and I mean red, as in rare...I can't hardly get enough of this goodness...I would eat it everyday-if only it didn't make me look like the cow from whence the meal was originally supplied!

#5: High Heels- Some girls might wish for less fat, a smaller nose, curly hair, a firm toosh, or perfect teeth...Me-i'll take beautiful dainty model feet that were built to wear fashionable little heels!(ok, the body to go with them would be nice too)...I have an insatiable desire for heels....but my too big, too wide, and too TIRED feet seem to prefer flip flops...how do you get your feet and heart on the same page?
