Yellowstone Adventure

Well, i've finally decided to take a whack at this blogging business...as a good friend informed me, it's a great way to journal without the dread of feeling like I have to pull out the 'ole journal every day...so here it goes!

John graduated last Thursday, and in celebration we decided to spend Friday and Saturday in Yellowstone. We packed up our gear times a million when you add a baby to the equation...and headed off down the road! We had great fun traveling through the park with our "nature eyes on"...but alas, only spotted a few elk, deer, buffalo and one lone bald eagle...we did come to a traffic jam where a little boy informed us there was a bear to be seen, but the brush was so thick, and there were so many people hovering we didn't see a thing....oh well!

After roasting a few hot dogs and mallows, we changed one last diaper, made a quick bottle (thankfully she'll take them stone cold!) and snuggled in for the night...THANKFULLY Carter slept soooo good through the night...unofrtunately we did not...who's the genius that forgot the foam mats to sleep on?!
All in all, we had a grand time...we drove alot, walked alot, laughed alot, and even sang a few tunes!

I just have to share Carter's newest trick...she must have gotten bored riding in the car for two days...we'd be pluggin along, thinking she was asleep in the backseat, and randomly she would just start babbling to herself (she's learned to shriek!)...she must have been saying some pretty funny stuff as she would belly laugh at herself, and giggle herself silly...it's one of those "had to have been there moments"...but I don't think we've laughed harder and smiled more in our lives! What fun watching and listening to our daughter learn and grow!!!
