Pretty Little Baby...

With how fast Carter has been growing, I'm already singing the "
Where's my little baby blues"! The other day I had her swaddled up after coming in from the nip of the morning air...she just fell right to sleep snuggled with her Momma, she just looked perfect in the morning light, so I took a few pictures...the close ups of her face make her look tiny still....just too precious!
At the Dahlia farms in town

We now officially roll over...one way only though...back to tummy, she still just gives up and rubs her face in the floor when on her belly...oh well, she'll get it some time, hopefully it'll just delay the crawling a little and give me a break before I have to start watching the stairs like a hawk!

We play at the Circus, but live at the Zoo!!

Living with family has been an adventure, we sure love and appreciate the opportunity to be here! We have such fun with the kids and enjoy sharing good food and lots of laughs with everyone!
Happy as a little clam!
The prettiest flower in the garden!

Three little Monkey's all in a row...the little ladies of the house!

The animals at the Zoo...Parker, Carter, Abrianna and Autumn!
Carter LOVES to spend time with her cousins...they are such good entertainment, and helpers...Abrianna is always ready and willing to run for diapers and wipes, Parker's always ready to make Carter laugh, of which he can do on demand...I don't know what it is about him, but she'll smile and laugh for him at the drop of a hat, and when the rest of us try FORGET it...that kid doesn't crack! Carter is very interested in her younger cousin Autumn, when we put them next to each other, Carter grabs at her and tries to taste Autumns little head...I just laugh and pretend that it's more of a kiss...a very wide open mouthed kiss!
Every day is an adventure with our family, even the small simple little things are so grand!

A night at the Circus in the Big City!

Wringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey put on a pretty good show!
Tight Roper Walkers...err...or Bikers! They weren't harnessed in, and I can't believe how narrow the matts of the floor were, it was soooo high up if they fell and didn't hit the padding....ooohhhh the horror to even think about it!
All 12 of the Tigers sitting pretty!

This was definitely a Hansen Family Adventure!

All of the animals were amazing! Dancing Elephants...Hopping Tigers...Dogs doing flips...Parading Zebra's...and Trickery with Horses!
The humans put on a pretty good show as well! The clowns were actually funny, and did some amazing magic tricks...the aerialists were just crazy in their death defying routines, and the tight rope walkers and the women who were shot out of a double barrel cannon were just outrageous!
It's always fun to go "downtown", the hype in a big city is exhilarating! We sure enjoyed the fun with my sister's and their kids...oh and our dear brother in law too! Baby Carter loved the Circus she was enthralled with all of the noise and lights...she was such a good girl...even took a little snooze! What fun this Hansen Family Adventure was!

God Bless the Single Mother's of the World...

Well, John's been off to McCall working for over a week, and my house mates were gone this week on vacation...so It was just me and Carter...oh how lonely just the two of us in such a big house! To top it all off the baby and I were sick, so we're going on our second week of neither of us sleeping at night and grouchiness during the day...the best part being that Carter's cold has been laced with teething...can't see or feel anything yet but she's sure fussy as all heck and gnawing on her thumb like there's no tomorrow, thank heaven for baby Motrin, teething tablets and baby orajel!!! Will it ever end???! We're missing Daddy soooo much, and can hardly wait for him to come home, hopeful in the next couple days we'll be able to shower him with kisses and hugs!!

Now that everyone's back from vacation it's time to really figure out some sort of a routine and such, I love seeing my nephew off to school on the bus each morning, I look forward to each new fun stage that Carter will reach, right now living here is a fun preview of what life has yet to hold!
For all of our family and friends in Idaho who've been asking, we've really not been doing anything fun yet...almost as soon as we got here, John turned around and went right back to work, and we've all been battling colds, so hopefully we'll get to the beach or someplace fun soon!!! This week we're going to try and get some nice family pictures, and portraits of Carter, so stay tuned for more Hansen Family Adventures!

Name That Baby Food!

Anyone...anyone...can you name that baby food?
We've moved on from obediently opening our mouth for each bite to blowing raspberries...I think I need to invent a feeding time shield for parents...it just might be the next big info-mercial to hit the scene, maybe it'd be my big break..if the snuggie can do it so can I!

Princess Carter at Cousin Brenna's Birthday party! No birthday cake for this little lady, but she's surely enjoying some of the new flavors we've been introducing...the newest fad if she likes the flavor is to "mmmmmmm"...the whole time while eating....if it's not a flavor on the top ten, I end up covered in it...come on now...who doesn't like pureed peas!

Too cute in her adorable panda shoes and dress...Thanks Becki for the cute outfit!
Couldn't resist this picture, I'm having such fun dressing her up for church...glad I tried the shoes and dress on her, about two weeks ago she was swimming in them...now she fills them out perfectly...oh the agony if she only gets to where the panda shoes once...they're just soo dang cute!

Settling in...

WHAT...we're leaving Idaho??? Oh Mom, do we hafta?

Well we finally made our way to Oregon, what a drive I don't care to repeat anytime soon! What a hulabaloo, packing our apartment, packing a trailer, unpacking a trailer, packing it into another trailer, unpacking at a storage unit and unpacking at my sisters....golllllyyyy...time for a vacation!!!
We've somewhat settled into Brook and Randall's, excited to be here, passing babies back and forth, have to say we are in good company...we've got quite the set up in the converted garage!!!
John's been working at Mom and Dad's building a wood shed while Dad's been laid up sick with pneumonia, and hopefully we'll be starting on the massive overhaul of their yard soon!...Carter and I have been spending alot of time relaxing at Nana's and Auntie Brooks, playing with all of the little cousins running around! We're so excited for baby Autumn to be blessed on Sunday, and will very much enjoy the family fun on Labor Day, I do believe a birthday party is in the makings!!!
The job hunt will begin soon and after that the house hunt....uh...or rather apartment hunt! Who knows where we'll actually end up...I'm thinking we should look for jobs near the beach!!! My heart strings are tugging towards central Oregon to the high dessert just like good 'ole Idaho, land that I love!
We're sad to leave the gem state, but know this is where we are supposed to be right now, it's good to be near my family for a bit, and so fun to share Carter with them...though we will miss our Idaho family dearly!
For a quick Carter update: She's now five months old and every bit of rolly polly she was when we left....she's eating her rice cereal like a champ and starting to find the joys in other flavors!!! Still won't roll over...though we try to help her along...I think maybe she'll just skip to crawling...make that running at the rate she's growing and learning!! She's truly the light of our lives, our Jolly little baby Carter Grace!
